Pilot Findings: Introducing Our Global Character
The recent pilot of our partners from Unanimous.AI, the Thinkscape platform was nothing short of transformative. Last Tuesday, we conducted an intense, high-paced session where different rooms engaged in dynamic debates and collaborative creation, all under the watchful assistance of AI bots. These bots not only gathered information but synthesized insights from various rooms, providing a cohesive understanding of our collective progress.
However, the experience was also challenging due to the rapid influx of information from all directions. The groups were incredibly active, making the pilot a truly dynamic and unique experience for all participants. While there is room for improvement in managing the flow of information, the session proved to be a valuable learning opportunity.
Key Findings about a Global Hero/Character:
Community Over Individualism: Participants resonated with the idea of a "Global Character" being a collective rather than a singular entity. This concept emphasizes community impact and cultural inclusivity.
Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to adapt to various cultural contexts and challenges was highlighted as crucial. Our Global Character must be versatile, embodying the spirit of resilience and innovation.
Youth Engagement: There was a strong sentiment towards creating a character that inspires children to take action. Children are often quicker to adopt and champion new ideas, making them ideal catalysts for change.
Inclusivity Through Language: A great suggestion received post-pilot was to rename the "Global Hero" to "Global Character" to be more inclusive. As one participant aptly put it, "A character is drawn from characteristics. The word ‘character’ translates in better diverse ways than ‘hero’."
Thinkscape collective perspective for the questions:
The main characteristic of Global Hero should be gender neutral. This attribute is important because it allows everyone to see themselves in the hero, promoting inclusivity and breaking down gender stereotypes. While some members considered other perspectives, the consensus was that a gender-neutral hero would be the most universally inspiring.
Global Hero should reside everywhere and nowhere, with an ever-changing background to represent different environments, even space. This approach makes Global Hero relevant to everyone, not tied to a specific geography, and allows for multiple places around the world to be showcased for different purposes. It also aligns with the idea of a universal, almost divine presence.
The prime motivator of Global Hero is love. We believe love is the most powerful force, fostering understanding, empathy, and collaboration, while reducing fear and promoting goodwill. Although some members noted that love can be one-sided and everyone’s input is valuable, the consensus is that love best captures the hero's drive to connect humans and the planet.
The final perspective is that implementing a team of Global Heroes instead of a single one would have the most positive impact. We believe this approach makes more sense for community impact, allows for validated decisions, and makes it easier for people to resonate with the information. While some members were unsure, the majority felt strongly about the benefits of a team-based approach.
Our journey continues as we refine and implement these insights to create a powerful, inclusive narrative that drives global action toward achieving the SDGs. We invite all creatives to join us in designing the Global Character and shaping the global narrative.

Aubrey de Grey is one of the pioneers and movers of this field who, just about 20 years ago, was pretty much the only voice in the dark talking about longevity when people were reluctant and uninterested.
He is perhaps the world's foremost advocate of the provocative view that medical technology will one day allow humans to control the aging process and live healthily into our hundreds—or even thousands.
Aubrey works on the development of medical innovations that can postpone all forms of age-related ill-health. His main focus is on rejuvenation: the active repair of the various types of molecular and cellular damage which eventually cause age-related disease and disability, as opposed to the mere retardation of the accumulation of such damage.
