TLL Updates
We just had our pilot yesterday with the Thinkscape app, and the findings are now centralized around a global hero character.
The pilot was very interesting and intriguing, with a high alert pace and different rooms debating and creating a swarm intelligence. Bots were helping gather information from the other rooms and summarize what was happening in real-time.
Keep the expectations high because next week, we'll report on the findings from a global audience.
We are also relaunching our weekly events, and later today will feature a fascinating topic related to tribes that can create and even launch a startup.
The Global Story Summit prep goes on with wonderful updates, but the big reveal will happen in August, so you’ll need to wait a bit. Did you register yet?
Narratives Can Change Everything - Climate Goes Hollywood
Compelling climate narratives in television shows and movies can help shift attitudes on climate change, a new study finds! Over a thousand participants were recruited, and researchers divided them into two groups. Half watched a climate-focused episode of Madam Secretary about a super typhoon menacing the Pacific Island nation of Nauru. The other half watched another episode of the same show about U.S. involvement in the Middle East.
People who watched the climate episode experienced “a substantial increase” in their level of concern about climate change and their support for government action. Researchers found this change persisted even two weeks after people watched the episode. [Source]

The EU has charged Meta with violating its Digital Markets Act (DMA), a new law regulating digital platforms, through its “pay or consent” model. That model, which Meta introduced in November to comply with the DMA, allowed European users of Instagram and Facebook to pay for a subscription instead of seeing ads. The EU now says these options prevent users from consenting to the use of their personal data. Meta is the second US-based Big Tech company to be charged for violating the DMA, after Apple got the hammer last week.
